The game

1in8B is a free life-simulation game. The odds of being born in each country and many events are based on public data from the UN, the World Bank, WHO, UNESCO and other organisations. The lives, people and stories themselves are made up, and any resemblance to real people is a coincidence.

The game simplifies reality and may contain inaccuracies. It is not medical, financial, legal or migration advice.

Difficult topics

The game deals with death, illness, poverty, violence and alcohol, as often as they occur in real statistics, but without graphic scenes. You can turn on “Leave out hard scenes” in the settings to hide the hardest events.

Playing with friends

Choose nicknames that do not insult anyone and do not reveal personal information, yours or anyone else’s. We may delete a room that is being abused. Online rooms are temporary and may be unavailable, for example while the server is being updated.

Rights

The game, its texts, graphics and code belong to the developer. You are free to share screenshots and cards of your lives. Data from public sources belongs to its owners and is used under their licences.

Liability

The game is provided “as is”, without any guarantee that it will always work. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage from using the game, including lost saved lives. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited under the law of your country.

App stores

If you installed the app from the App Store or Google Play, the rules of those stores also apply. For the App Store app, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
