What this policy covers

This policy covers the 1in8B apps for Android and iOS and the websites 1in8b.game and 1in8billion.game (together, “the game”). “We” means the developer of the game. You can reach us at support@1in8b.game.

Data on your device

There are no accounts: we never ask for your name, email or phone number. Your current life, past lives, your answers to the game’s questions, last words and settings are stored only in the app’s or browser’s storage on your device. We do not receive them and cannot see them.

Analytics on the websites

The websites 1in8b.game and 1in8billion.game use Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies and collects anonymised usage data: which pages are opened, actions such as starting a life or tapping Share, device and browser type, language and approximate location at country or city level. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We only look at aggregate numbers and never try to identify you.

The data is processed by Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Event data is kept in our account for no longer than 14 months. You can switch analytics off by blocking cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The mobile apps contain no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers.

Playing online with friends

When you create a room or join one with a code, the nickname you typed and snapshots of your game are sent to our room server: your character’s name, country, age, key events, stats and life summary, plus reactions from other players. Only the players in that room can see them.

A room is deleted automatically 48 hours after its last activity, together with the nicknames, snapshots and reactions. Rooms are not linked to any account.

Notifications

If you allow room notifications in the app, your device’s push token (issued by Apple or Google) is stored on our server with your room membership and deleted together with the room. It is used only to tell you about what happens in that room.

The optional daily reminder is a local notification: it is scheduled on your device and never sends anything anywhere.

Sharing and links

When you share a birth or a life, the text, image and link go only where you send them. The link contains a birth code (so a friend can live the same life) and source tags, but no personal data.

Server logs

Like any web server, our servers keep technical request logs (IP address, time, requested address, browser). They are kept for a limited time and used only to protect against abuse and to fix errors.

What we do not do

We do not sell data or pass it to advertisers, do not show ads, do not build player profiles and do not use data to make automated decisions about you.

Delete your data

In the app: the “Delete all” button on the home screen removes your past lives. To erase everything at once, clear the app’s data (Android: Settings → Apps → 1in8B → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall the app (iOS and Android).

On the websites: clear the site data in your browser settings. This removes both your lives and the analytics cookies.

Rooms, nicknames, snapshots and push tokens are deleted automatically 48 hours after the last activity in the room. If you want a room deleted sooner, write to support@1in8b.game with the room code.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has sent us any data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what data about you is held, to correct or delete it and to object to its processing. Since there are no accounts, almost all of the data is already under your control on your device. For any request, write to support@1in8b.game.

Changes

If we change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with a new “last updated” date.
